  • Position Summary: This Strategic Delivery Manager position is responsible for acting in partnership with the Service Director to direct all functions of the Service Department. Manages workforce including routing, delivery, DOT compliance and other transportation related functions. Essential Responsibilities: Develops Strategic initiative and metrics to manage/monitor all aspect of delivery functions. Ensures that loads are assigned to drivers with consideration to their available hours of service in order to reach their destinations per the customer's requested schedule. Responsible for staffing, training, developing and evaluating drivers and service leads. Assists in assigning loads to drivers according to delivery times and driver availability to prevent supply interruptions. Ensures adherence to delivery standards, efficiencies and regulatory requirements. Manages team member’s hours worked and audits their timekeeping records. Actively utilizes IT equipment to optimize delivery schedules & minimize supply chain cost. Manages execution of day to day distribution operations within parameters of both labor and other operating expense budgets. Serves as liaison between distribution and sales to ensure timely and accurate deliveries in an efficient and cost effective manner. Maintains collaborative relationships with the sales team and all other departments in order to achieve goals and customer satisfaction. Assists the Service Director with meeting and exceeding productivity goals for operations to minimize miles and maximize volumes delivered to reduce costs. Responds to frequent real time delivery changes driven by supply chain events and provides direction to drivers during trip-related activities. Identifies customer usage changes to proactively meet customer requirements and maximize service levels for customer retention. Establishes and maintains positive customer relationships, resolves customer issues. Problem solves with customers and suppliers to identify cost-saving opportunities for the company and customers. Supports and assists with implementing Company initiatives to achieve performance, quality and safety metrics. Proactively assists with improving process functioning and strives for enhanced levels of efficiency. Ensures the safeguard and security of Company assets. Assists the sales team and Sales Director with the planning and forecasting of volume. Takes proactive steps to ensure that drivers provide exceptional service to our retail customers. Responsible for knowing, understanding and abiding by all Federal and State laws pertaining to alcoholic beverages. Adheres to and enforces all company safety regulations and all federal/State/Company/D.O.T. requirements. Performs other duties as assigned by Management Qualifications for Position: High school diploma or GED required; Two year college degree (e.g., Supply Chain, Management or Logistics) required, preferred Bachelor’s degree. 5+ years-related experience in consumer products/direct store delivery required 2+ years supervising distribution/delivery staff Possess solid analytical thinking Experience with performance metrics and process improvement Experience with LEAN methodology and Continuous Improvement preferred Possess strong motivation, coaching, leadership and supervisory skills Intermediate computer and database application skills required Knowledgeable with DOT, OSHA and state and federal laws pertaining to alcoholic beverages Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills Valid driver's license and driving record within MVR policy guidelines, CDL A preferred Able to work flexible hours Able to effectively use pallet jacks and lifts. Physical Requirements: Able to twist, turn, crouch, stoop and squat repeatedly throughout the workday. Lifting, bending, pulling, and pushing abilities. Ability to lift, load, unload and move products weighing up to 165lbs. Ability to work in a wide temperature variation. (36-Temperature outside).   • Driver Swing Route (Class A) Package/Draft Delivery - This position requires a Class A Commercial Driver License. This person is responsible for delivery of draft and package beer to retail customers and requires heavy lifting. Work schedule is Monday through Friday, with some holiday work requlred. Start time is 5:00 am, earlier on selected routes. Must be at least 21 years of age with a clean driving record. This job requires repetitive heavy lifting.
