  • The Maintenance Assistant performs basic maintenance and repair tasks and may assist other skilled workers in the maintenance and repairs of the building components, systems, equipment and ancillary areas. Training will be provide to an assistant who demonstrates aptitude, cooperation, reliability and is mechanically inclined. Essential Responsibilities • Responsible for light ground maintenance: keeping culverts, grates, gutters, drains and fence lines free of debris/sprinkler systems. • Responsible for general lighting maintenance of facility, including the replacement of interior and exterior light bulbs, ceiling tiles, flags, painting, etc. • Performs minor troubleshooting and assists with the repair of various equipment. • Inspects equipment and systems for preventative maintenance. • Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies as directed. • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records pertaining to repairs and cleaning schedules. • Responsible for the maintenance inventory of necessary parts, cleaning supplies and other materials needed to perform the job. • Must be available for special events or any emergencies. • Required to pick up supplies from local vendors using employer provided vehicle. • Maintains good working relations with outside contractors • Adheres to all company Safety regulations and all Federal/State/ requirements. • Represent Double Eagle in a professional manner at all times. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Ability to use power and hand tools, hand drills, electric meters, and hoisting equipment. • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. • Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints and/or schematics. • Ability to work in safe and efficient manner. Minimum Requirements • High school diploma or GED Experience: • One year experience in craft/building maintenance work. • Valid driver’s license • Fort Lift Certified or fork lift experience Physical Requirements Sitting, standing, walking, driving, climbing ladders, squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending, lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs. multiple times per shift, fingering, talking, hearing, and seeing.
